Good point — the creativity that came from the HBO offerings has started trickling down to the cable networks, where some good shows have taken or are to take root. But to your point, just no way the big networks will ever anything not ready made for the masses, a method which manages to produce shows every now and again, and genuinely good shows seemingly by accident.
