By the time the bank finds out the check was a fraud the money is gone and you are liable to the bank since you deposited it.

    So, Keep the cash for the first check you deposited. Do not send any of the cash to the person. Hold it for at least 30 days. (or spend it LOL) If it makes it past 30 days then that check was legit but it may be a bait and switch technique.
