  • Listening to Terry Gilliam Island Discs in bed, these genteel-sounding shows never fail to put me to sleep.

  • Simple answer; neither have anything to do with the plot.

Please remember that the film is fantasy not real.

The Illuminati were in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt in Bavaria and he and his associates were found out and the group suppressed in 1789. The Illuminati ceases to exist after this date.

Freemasonry on the other hand began, as we know it today, in 1717 as four London Lodges got together and formed the Grand Lodge of London (laster to be known as the united grand Lodge of England).
Most Masonic Lodged around the world today can trace their origins back to the UGLE.
Freemasons must believe in a Supreme Being to join and in my own experience have nothing to do with claptrap like this fantasy film. Although interesting to the individual, nothing to do with Freemasonry at all.
To explain what Freemasons do would take more room than is warranted here. I suggest you check with the Grand Lodge of (where you live) website or head to your local library and read a bit on the subject of Masonry and you may not it' as not many outside the organization do, but you will have learned that Freemasonry is not what some conspiracy nuts on the Internet rant on about.

Use the common sense G_d gave you.
