    Why do you hate the world so much? You may be experiencing culture shock. I have been to England and Paris and the people, mostly tourists are just glad to be there (away from their personal problems and on vacation. They even thinking about you.)

    And Paris has a cultural preference for older buildings, in that "the more ancient it is, the higher the value. If you build a new building, its not of equal value." So its really interesting cultural relativism.

    TZ, I agree, Ireland has been through a lot of oppression from the Brits (not saying that all Brits are bad as befriended a few :) , so I doubt the Irish in general (in 2009) would be as obsessed with money and class. really your culture and how/where you grew up. Also your familial values have an impact as well.

    I am sure, however, there are people in Ireland who like you said, are into money and class. But people like them make the world all the more…interesting.

    I think really, the students need to cut back on their expenditures.

    I live in New Zealand on government scholarship and I share a two bedroom right in one of the most expensive areas in town and we have high speed broadband, satellite television and we eat out every night and WE STILL have money left over for things like videogames,DVDs, books and….warhammer minitaures JUDGE ME! :( ).

    But the fact that doing something illegal is somewhat concerning. In new zealand, students on a student visa get to work 20 hours per week and surprised it the same in the US.
